Kindle Tablet Info
Kindle Fire owners have been using firmware 6.2.1 for nearly a month now. Amazon changed that, however, with the new 6.2.2 update. It isn’t nearly as significant as last month’s UI-improving 6.2.1 update, but it’s rolling out now nonetheless.
This is a minor update for the Kindle Fire. In fact, the only notable change is a button in the Silk browser that lets you browse in full-screen mode. Actually, there is one more noticeable change: the new update breaks root and returns your tablet to unrooted settings.
Fortunately there is already a root method for the new firmware, and we have updated our tutorial: How to root the Kindle Fire (updated for 6.2.2)
The update will download automatically (at some point) when you’re connected to WiFi. If you want to hurry that process along, you can follow the instructions below.
